Mentalica therapist's thoughts

It's a comprehensive solution that unites access to meditation exercises, psychoeducational resources on mental health, and gives access to a community of qualified counsellors. You can also engage with other community members. However, you need to sign up to an annual plan, there is no free version of this solution. The onboarding process is fairly long, which I actually quite liked: VOS analyses your wellbeing from a holistic perspective, looking at your mental and physical wellbeing too. I also like the design of the app.

Key features (free)

Limited premium features available with ads

Mentalica user experience

Free version is full of ads that you need to watch to be able to progress with the app - yet I find this better than being completely locked behind a paywall. This way you could start exploring it and you could decide whther you want to pay for it or commit to the 7-day trial. Sign-up was easy but uneasy connecting with one of my private accounts (Apple, Google or Facebook)

Premium features

Productivity, time management, stress management exercises, integration with Google Fit, mental heath community, affirmative messages, journalling, mood tracking, meditation

Privacy policy's evaluation

Can only register with one of the following: your Apple ID, Google account, Facebook account. App asks to track you after opening. Privacy policy states that your social media will be analysed if you connect it, and that your data is shared with insurers who might contact you. "in order to provide location-based services" the app tracks your location. They might share your data with other affiliated / partner companies and you could receive marketing emails from them. Your data is used to provide you with more personalised services and marketing. App and team very focused on monetisation.
